So i was wondering how serious you all are when you play video games!
So here are some quick questions:
How long do you play?
Do you get frustrated easily when you play? If so, what do you do?
Are you one of those gamers that wont even get up to answer the phone (no matter how many times it rings), use the restroom or even eat?

Some people play games for sole enjoyment rather than competition.

And me? I'm a hardcore gamer, but I'm not really that competitive. Sure, I want to win, but I don't let it ruin my enjoyment of the game. I'll sometimes get frustrated and quit though if I'm constantly getting pissed off with what's happening in the game. When no one's home I sometimes swear.

As for not answering the phone and not eating and drinking, that's not me. I'll never ignore my needs unless I'm in the middle of a part that can't be paused. I don't know about you, but I don't enjoy holding my bladder while trying to play a game. And snacks are ftw. Even during my all day WoW sessions (which don't happen anymore) I always took breaks when needed.

well when i use to play GTA 3 & Vice City i would play for hours none stop!! i wouldn't get up to do ANYTHING like eat, drink or go to restroom (atleast till i can't hold it any longer of course and absolutely have to go lol)!!! but yea i get pretty frustrated easily and i HATE losing!!! not to the point where i will make up excuses why i lost (i HATE when ppl do that!!!!) but yea i just get mad maybe swear and cuss a few times lol.

No, seriously, I am competitive by nature, so it's only natural that I am competitive and serious in gaming. I do play to win a lot of the time, but I also like to enjoy myself while playing; despite that, I have been known to sometimes grunt in anger (or perhaps despair), slam the keyboard, or throw the controller in my frustration. During the intervening time, I usually then proceed to call the game "stupid" and talk about its inaccuracies. Usually though, if I am not on mic I am a pretty silent gamer...

Being out of school and "between jobs" (to put it generously), I play about 12-14 hours a day. And trust me, it's not as fun as it sounds.

As for competition, I don't do much multiplayer.

when i get on xbox live for halo 3.... nothing else matters

I get really bad when I play WWE games, I won't get up, I will swear, I don't care if my little brother is around.

One time I got pissed off with GTA: San Andreas, i threw the controller lol

Also when I lose at Unreal Tournament, that really pisses me off.

Once at a LAN party we were playing RTCW multiplayer on the map in the tombs where one team has to find the coffin, set a charge, blow the charge, and get out with the stuff that was inside it.

I was attacking. It was hell.

Some of the best players there were on defense and legendary as i am at FPS i couldnt get to that fucking coffin for half the game, theyd set the room up like it was a fucking fortress.

I finally got to it with 5 minutes to go, set the charge...i got killed and the guy kills me and diffuses it.

Okay. No biggie. I've figured out their strategy. I got in a few more times. Killed. Diffuse.

FFS.

Bearing in mind it takes 10 seconds for the bomb to explode and a good 20 seconds to get out of the complex.

I took one last run at it with my team backing me up, set the charge with 32 seconds on the clock. 5 seconds untill the charge goes off i get killed, and i see that thorn in my side going to diffuse it again.

I kick my chair from underneath me, bomb across the room, and pull the bastard off his damned PC.

Ha lo 3 I got extremley pissed off with, because I was ranked 88th in the world (pretty sad) I didnt even know it until I looked it up, well according to my game stats. And from then on I was like to hell with having fun, play to win... Then I got mad at everything. But now I've hung up my controller, I've sold GTA IV. So thats it for alittle while.

I play from when I wake up (anywhere between 8am and 11am) til I go to bed around 3-4am. Sad I know.

I get frustrated quite easily, I just find the best way to deal with it is to simply yell and swear, then quit. I tend to play single player games, or multiplayer games where its a co operative structure, like Test Drive Unlimited or Garry's Mod.

I usually take reguar brakes though, cause I can get bored of the one thing quite easily. I always answer the phone if no one else is home, and I always go to the toilet when necessary.

I play recreational for 1-3 hours a day. It doesn't affect me much, since I just replaced wathing TV for playing computer games.

But I know some people that play too much, they're plugged in for 5+ hours a day and they forget about other things in life.

.....when I do play....more than eight hours.

I'm not rly that serious of a "gamer" but when I get into a game its hard for me not to get frustrated.

I'm pretty intense, but I'll always get up and go if something better comes up....such as a girl...

I scream and curse at the television, One of my relatives walkes in the room, Scolds me for cursing at the game, But I try to assure them I'm not cursing at the game, I'm cursing at the people who are acting like idiots in the game.

They don't quite get the whole concept of online play yet.

When I play a computer game, such as CS 1.6, I'm constantly swearing my head off. Calling people C---s and Motherf-----s whenever I got shot at.

You're part of the reason I can't stand online gameplay. Teenies screaming and swearing like a sailor over a fucking game. "YOU FUCKHEADS WHY WEREN'T YOU GUARDING THE FUCKING FLAG?" Sorry that I wasn't, but holy crap, chill, it's just a game.

I never let my desire to win ruin my experience. I'm more about finding a worthy opponent than winning constantly. I don't care who has more wins or losses at the end of the night, as long as each match is tooth and nail 'til the end. Because that's when I most enjoy myself.
