Post here if you have the game.

My friend code is 5112-3091-3588

Online is practically unplayable right now. Every match I've been in has been lagtacular except for one.

Impressions from my first day of the game:

Music is AMAZING
SSE mode is pretty meh. Repetitive and just plain annoying. 6-10 hours of YAWN.
Brawl isn't as fast as Melee, but it feels just as polished and smooth. Characters seem relatively balanced, and I've found no "useless" ones yet
Online is lacking and could be so much better
Tons of trophies and unlockables

Beat SSE, the last level was ridiculous. "LOL let's make you fight every boss in the game again and the evil form of all 32 characters!!! and let's put in a confusing layout to boot to make the game seem longer!!!" Ugh, never touching it again.

Online is still worthless.

That's unfortunate that online sucks -- for me, that would be a big plus for the game. Do you know if it's possible to make your own games just with friends?

I'm not a big Smash Bros. fan. What I'm really looking forward to is Mario Kart, now that will be awesome. icon_smile.gif

It is possible, but 95% of the matches I've tried have been full of lag and unplayable. And no, it's not my connection.

Let's hope Nintendo fixes it.

Well I think I fixed the lag. Just had to open about 6000 ports (no, I'm not even kidding), and change my channel frequency on my router. I can play relatively lag free games with someone from California, and I'm happy with that.

Online could be so much better. Nintendo really needs to advance past their "Protect the children!!11!" mentality and make a real online service.

And I can't believe no one here plays it. YOU ALL FAIL.

isn't opening that many ports a bit risky?? icon_confused.gif

I'm no networking guru, but I believe only opening TCP ports is really risky. I opened UDP ones. Also, it's not like opening ports is suddenly an open door for hackers. They still have to find a software exploit.

My brother got it on release. I played for about 3 minutes with the Wii controller and couldn't put up with it.

Once I get around to playing for real, I will definitely have to use the Wavebird.

My friend got it, I'm playing it tomorrow, comments he's made: Story mode sucks ass, and the wii controller is wierd so he switched to the gamecube ones.

Yeah, I didn't even bother using the Wii remote, just went straight to my Wavebird.

The story mode is fun at first, but then it gets very repetitive and you just want it to be finished. It doesn't help that the last level is 20% of the game and basically makes you play through everything again. It's about 6-8 hours, and is the easiest way to unlock the characters unless you prefer grinding 1 HP VS matches.

I stood in line outside of Gamestop for the midnight release. So far I've unlocked every character and every stage with 95% of the story mode completed. Story mode is fun but the novelty wears off within a few hours. The online functionality is what's really been gobbling up my free time and I know it will keep me playing for years.

Well, I'm still getting lag despite the friends I have registered are not. >:(
