PS3 for high-tech graphics and edge-cutting game play, 360 for online gaming.

Ofcourse you can, but Xbox's online gameplay has always been better. And since we're going off topic, might as well add that I wouldn't take either, Wii<3

But Xbox Live is infinitely superior.

And X360 has the much better game library. It also has better support in the United States (not Asia) and is easier to develop for. PS3 has higher graphics potential, but is harder to utilize. PS3 has the advantage of being able to play Blu-Ray but this will be offset as standalone, dedicated players become cheaper and more available.

I <3 my 360. While the PS3 has gotten better since its laughable launch, the only game coming out for it that remotely interests me is Final Fantasy XIII. And who knows, that could be released on 360 sometime. Lost Odyssey shows that Japanese developers are not afraid of the system.

Exactly.

Plus, i remember hearing that they were fazing out all other DVD's now and just doing Blu-Ray.

The "better graphics" are negligible. The more complex architecture to develop for essentially negates this point. 360 still has the better games.

Only thing PS3 has going for it is Blu-Ray, and an inferior free online service if you're too cheap to buy $4 a month.

i would go for a 360... but if you come to think of it too, you cant just bring tho 360 around wherever, so psp would also do it for me. BUT again im more on the 360 kind of guy...the graphics are cool!!! icon_eek2.gif
highskoolstud
i believe that 360 has it by a long shot!!!! who cares bout blu-ray??? its all about the games they have and online gameplay. and developers fear the ps3 b/c of how hard it is to make a game!!! just like GTA...... the only reason why it is getting put out sooo late is b/c of the ps3!!! it shoulda came out before christmas!!! so yea i HATE ps3!!!!!!!!!!!! lol
Bluepryde
I gotta say I'm a 360 fan. Xbox live is better than what the ps3 has going i nterms of online play and a way better games library.
guitarman92
Ive heard that The 360 is made out of really cheap parts and has a tendency to scratch disks.

Bullshit. It only scratches disks if you move it while the system is running. And if you do that, you're an idiot and you deserve to get your games scratched.

And it's not made out of cheap parts. While there have been some quality issues in the past, Microsoft has been working out the kinks, such as a new chipset in the newest models.
Bluepryde
Yeah there have been issues in the past with defective design parts (One of mine broke) but microsoft have got there backsides in gear and are actually taking steps to learn and improve and so far i thin they are doing a good job.

For the time being, 360 is the better choice because there are tons more games on it and such. However, I believe that PS3 will be the better console in the end, and I say that without any personal stakes. Frankly, I don't care. icon_razz.gif I got my console for the games that I wanted, and it won't hurt my feelings if another console turns out to be generally "better."
Ryan
PS3. Better graphics, free online, blu-ray, controllers (weigh less and charge with a usb cable no batteries) and it can be run on a wireless connection and I don't think the 360 can.

Although I must admit 360 has better games, better software and a bigger hard drive if you get the 120GB. Online play is also a lot more fun because theres more people with the 360 and a higher percentage use headsets.

I like them both but I'd have to say im more than content with my PS3.
mck
@Ryan: You're right, the 360 needs a WiFi adapter (official one is $100 but I think you can use others). Ethernet is the only thing onboard.

And I think the PS3 will end up being more successful overall as it's a console that's built to last. The technology in it is nowhere near obsolete and will continue to be pushed for years to come. And I'm not saying the 360 is obsolete, just that it will hit that road block of development before Sony does. So while Nintendo (most definitly) and Microsoft focus on a new console, Sony can enjoy the continuing success of the lower and lower cost PS3. Hmm. . . not sure if I really made sense there.

People said the same thing about the PS2. It was inferior in technology to the Xbox. Never happened.

Are you kidding me? The PS2 is still selling like crazy. The XBox? No way. Games are still being made for it, people still play it.

Did you even read my post? That was what I was saying. People were saying the PS2 would end up losing the console war since the Xbox had technology "built to last" but PS2 maintained its lead and won.

Definitely PS3 great compatability, and infinitely superior graphics. it is true that developers fear the PS3 when thinking of all the modern parts used. Especially the 6 cores of PS3's 8core processor they need to program for. Also BlueRay is a huge boon especially seeing as Toshiba has finally had the sense to drop HD DVD and will no longer sell any players as of this month. I personally can't see Sony granting Microsoft a Blue Ray license for the xbox seeing as Blue Ray is a Sony developement. However microsoft is the biggest software compony in the world so it's very likely they will.

Oh well it's just another major development flaw that sony fans ca rub into xBox users faces.

lets see.
-Little backwards compatability on all models
-Lack of built in components- HD disc format player, WiFi, a half decent cooling fan icon_smile.gif, should i continue
-clumsy heavy controllers that use AA batteries, AA BATTERIES!!!
-Disc Scratching
-Use of clumsy old technology PC parts
-oh and lets not forget, THE RED RING OF DEATH!

Sorry Microsoft but even your cheap price won't get me to buy your shoddy console.

Except the 40GB model can't play PS2 games.

and infinitely superior graphics.

If by "infinitely superior", you mean "marginally superior", then sure.

it is true that developers fear the PS3 when thinking of all the modern parts used

All those "modern parts" are useless when they're difficult to develop for and not used to their full potential.

Especially the 6 cores of PS3's 8core processor they need to program for

Exactly, it's difficult to program for. And will never be used to its full potential in games since it will bottleneck the GPU and the RAM.

Also BlueRay is a huge boon especially seeing as Toshiba has finally had the sense to drop HD DVD and will no longer sell any players as of this month

Finally, a valid point.

Oh well it's just another major development flaw that sony fans ca rub into xBox users faces.

Brand loyalty is stupid.

-Little backwards compatability on all models

Most of the best games have been emulated by now. But I will admit that PS3 has better, but not perfect backwards compatibility.

-Lack of built in components- HD disc format player, WiFi, a half decent cooling fan icon_smile.gif, should i continue

Not everyone needs an HD player, or wireless. And yes, please continue.

clumsy heavy controllers that use AA batteries, AA BATTERIES!!!

That's funny. My wireless 360 controller plugged into my computer now charging is obviously using AA batteries. icon_rolleyes.gif Oh wait.

And actually, the 360 controller is amazing. Much better than the PS3's. It's extremely comfortable, and its only downside is a poor d-pad.

Disc Scratching

Once again, this "disc scratching" only occurs if you move the console while it is reading a disc. Not something any intelligent person would do. It would be nice if you actually used valid points, rather than lies.

Use of clumsy old technology PC parts

So that's why DMC4 has identical graphics on PS3 and 360? Damn those old 360 parts!

-oh and lets not forget, THE RED RING OF DEATH![

Valid point, but MS has improved their quality control.

Sorry Microsoft but even your cheap price won't get me to buy your shoddy console.

Still has better games, and better online, than PS3. Believe it or not, I buy a system to play fun games.

WTF, limit on number of quote tags? How silly.
