I was extremely good at it, so I stopped to play real guitar which I'm not so good.

its fun but it pisses me off when people think they have some sort of musical talent cause they are good at it.

Rock Band > Guitar Hero I have both.

everyone says this, but I have yet to see someone who thinks that way.

rockband is 100x better than guitar hero.

i've beaten guitar hero I and II on expert, i just beat guitar hero III on hard (which might as well have been expert), and was plugging along on rockband on hard until my guitar controller broke. my new one should be here sometime this week.

so yeah... they're all pretty fun.

on mine, the downstrum just stopped working. apparently it's some widespread problem with the PS3 controllers.

i'm hoping my replacement controller doesn't have the same problem and works for more than a week.

We had a debate about Guitar Hero today in class, as to wether or not it was a sport... Lots of yelling

If you only played it on Easy you didn't experience the majority of the game. Easy is for retarded people and old people. And yes, I began on Easy too.

Agreed. So far I can play the drums on Medium. I finished the solo tour on Medium.

Yup thats me retarded and old. Haha. I just haven't played it much. I can do it on normal I just fail 75% of the time .

Rock Band all around is easier than Guitar Hero I noticed. I can only beat GH on Hard and get around half way through on Expert, while on Rock Band my friend and I beat it on Expert. I played guitar he played drums.

I'm working on GHIII on hard. I just beat Stricken, by Disturbed. There are a lot of hammer-ons/pull-offs in that song.

And for those of you who say Rock Band is better, I don't have a console, so fuck you for making me feel insignificant for the only purchase I could make anyway.

I like Guitar Hero, but I definitely prefer rock band. They're coming out with the OASIS pack this week for Rock Band and I am so pumped!

GHIII seriously has a higher level of difficulty.

It's because the note charts are more difficult than necessary. Dragonforce can't even play Through The Fire and Flames correctly live, and I believe the note chart used in GHIII is actually multiple guitars.

I've beaten most songs on hard, and some on expert.

How do you get custom songs? I can see from YouTube vids that people are starting to do that.

I believe you can hack GHII to play custom songs on PS2

Yea, that pissed me off because the opening part is a eletric keyboard part.

How so? In terms of guitar, they're about equal. GHIII is harder.

I'm trying to get a perfect score on Pride and Joy. There's one or two parts there where I miss at least one note every time, and a few parts I miss at least one note some of the time.

the game itself is just so much better. most, if not all, of the tracks are real and not covers, the song selection is better, you can customize characters more, you can create bands with more than a guitar/bass, etc.

the only things they really share is the concept and the fact that guitar hero III had some real tracks.

I've found actually that more of the tracks on GHIII are the original master tracks, as opposed to Rock Band. Not to mention that Rock Band would not have the popularity it has if it weren't for Guitar Hero. And etc.

Passed Pride and Joy on Hard. This may not be an accomplishment for most people, but it is for me. After playing through Guitar Hero II on Medium and the first tier on Hard, my skills somehow improved and I passed it on my first try, never even entering the red.

Now on to Tier 7...which is a huge increase in difficulty. First up: Knights of Cydonia (I think). Just need to work on my HOs/POs and it's not too bad.

another thing I can do well on a guitar, and not guitar hero.

Made a few attempts on KoC. I get past the first part of the song easily. I enter the solo with (usually) a maxed out rock meter and star power. Then comes the solo...

The first section (I forget its name) isn't that bad. I make mistakes, but if I'm lucky I can stay in the green. Now the next part is ugly...Galloping Triplets. I know what I'm supposed to do, but I can't execute it properly. My hands just aren't flexible and strong enough to maintain those HOs/POs. Then I lose the beat when I have to strum again and I fail. The O B Y ones give me the most trouble. I'm having trouble controlling my pinky and ring finger for some reason. I guess I need to practice that part over and over again until it feels natural. If I can master it, I'd say the song is as good as beaten.

BEAT STRICKEN on essentially my third try. First try, I got like 3% or something ridiculous like that. Then I assumed it was too much for me and moved on to a different song. After giving up on KoC, went back to it and to my amazement got 69%. Third try, I beat it, with a reasonable score of 93k and 80%, with full saved up star power at the end since I was afraid of messing up lol.

1 down, three to go.

I got perfect on one of those heavier songs on hard. I don't remember if it was Stricken or Lay Down, and I can't fire up GH to check right now since I have to go in like 5 minutes.

Nice. I haven't FC'd any songs on Hard, or even come close for that matter, unless you count GHII's joke Tier One.

Ah. Apparently I didn't FC (didn't know that you knew what that meant, so I just said perfect) either of them. I've done several others, though.

369,000 points on Stricken on hard. I can't FC it because of the very last part of the solo.

i can only play on medium and very few hard. i cant use my pinky (sp?) at all. so i can only use 3 fingers... index, middle and ring finger. so yea its kinda funny how i cant lol.
