everybody is all up in arms on how much the PS3 sucks. i have one and it's awsome. with "home" comming out for it and all the amazingly spiffy games on their way, why dosnt everybdy just deal with it and stop hating. close to 5k for a bluray player w/ all the stuff anyway. it's kind of a good deal.

The key word is EVENTUALLY...IF that ever happens. The thing is that they make most of their money from games, and the 360 is currently dominating that charts in that way. Even if Sony sells more consoles, the buyers are going to have to buy the games too.

Sony are slowly but surely losing the grip they had on the market. The next generation of consoles could become their undoing. Maybe they will come out with a more original name for the PS4 too... ^^

as far as games are concerned, sony did have some awsome titles lined up but the dev. teams dropped them for Microsoft. sony needs to get better relations fast or the PS3 will go the way of the dreamcast.

why, im definetly going to buy it...some people just buy it for the blue ray player because its cheaper than a regualr blue ray player. In my opinion..the graphics are a little bit better, and they just came out with not that long ago. Wait a year and you'll see what kind of graphics it really has. In the long run, i think its better

One reason the ps3 kicks' the 360's ass is that there isn't a "red ring of death". Cheap hardware breaks easy. =D

Except for the Wii (correct me if I'm wrong, but I haven't heard any horrible Wii stories) but that just goes to show that Nintendo is still a contender.

here is what i put in the PS3 is a flop thread

OKay the ps3 owns it always will.
-the wii is fun i have but no good game probably coming out till next year(because theyll start making online games) i still have a blast with it.
- the xbox360 is good dont get me wrong it has some very good exclusive games(halo,lost plante, and probably alot more)
but it is still in the past. it still uses dvds for its games, but they use a different compact system for the game files; i.e. longer game loading times. and no way to every expand and start making better games.
another thing people overlook is the price you may think that $399 is a good price but after you add the hddvd drive($199)($399+$199=598+tax=about $640)
ohh you could also add the wireless adapter ($99)
and if you want a new 120gb hard drive(assuming you dont already have a xbox360 elite which IS a FLOP) thats $179
and a xbox live gold account another $50
so lets see lets add all that up $399+$199=$598+$99=$697+$179=$876+$50=$926 (now if thats not alot of money idk what is)
- now lets look at the ps3
system which includes wireless, a bigger hard drive,free online playing, and includes blu-ray(which is majorly outselling the hddvd)($599)
thats $400 cheaper
okay lets say i get a new controller and maybe a game ohh and maybe a blue tooth headset(ohh yeah PS3 has Blue tooth) lets add it up $49(for controller)+$60(for a game)+and about $50(for a blue tooth headset)= (so thats)$160+(system)$599=$760(still $140 cheaper i think)
so by far the PS3 is the better console and with the blu-ray it has room to grow and get EVEN BETTER! SO GO WITH THE PS3 ITS THE BEST

but so will the PS3 if you think about it when the 360 had just come out it didnt have very many good games at all
so think of the PS3 in a year it will have awsome games like lair, two worlds, sabouteur, uncharted and like a million more including Final Fantasy XIII and Devil May Cry 4

What are these 'good add-ons' that are the only things that make it 'worth playing'? Everything you need is basically comes right out of the box. And I personally like my controllers to pack a little muscle, yes that means it can rumble.

well then, what a spirited set of posts . i think though that sony may be in serious danger if they dont get it together and do something fast. dont get me wrong, i love sony and the PS3, but the media and a large portion of the consumers [points above] has this pre-conceved notion that it strait up sucks no matter what. until sony finds a way to shift that viewpoint away from themselves, then they will continue to have problems.

This has nothing to do with the actual agruement, I'm just pointing out that by mention the 360 has exclusive games, you've completely weakened your entire arguement, only making mine stronger, in the fact that 360 DOES have exclusive games such as Halo, Lost Planet, and the new, critically acclaimed Gears of War.



Regardless if they still use DVDs for their games, ask any true gamer, the game is not about the graphics (although they help) the game is about Game play. Microsoft will be able to expand and make better games, because it games are not about how amazing the graphics are, it is about bringing up original and new concepts to gaming that has never been thought of before.



Personally I don't see a point in these new movie formats, first of all I don't want to re-buy my DVD collection, at twice the price of a normal DVD so that I can see it in this so called 'high definition' I also think that some people should stay in low definition, because they don't look good enough for 'high definition', I don't need to see someone pores.

360 comes with wireless. Hardrive is to big, to a point where most of the space is not used. Online gaming sucks and has a horrible game library. Blu- Ray: Like I said with HD, so read above.

Bluetooth, from what I've used with it on my cell phone, has a horrible Battery life, and thats just from talking, and when gamers sit down, especially those that are willing to drop that much money for the head set, they're going to play for hours at a time, making the battery life look even worse.

The controller and the game come to about the same price, so those shouldn't even be a factor.

I wouldnt buy either, i believe that paying this much money for a console is stupid when you are not a very regular player (like myself), and could have just as much fun doing something else, more productive. But, being a gaming forum, ill give my hypothetical opinion:

I believe the p23 and xbox are fairly similar, although i must say that i prefer the xbox, there are some great games exclusive to it, which make it worthwhile.

Overall however, i believe that the Wii is by far the best value for money, it is fun to play in groups, its new, different, and, contradicting my assumtion, the controls do not get boring. Great console in my opinion.

Everyone hates on it because the PS3 sucks, fyi.
